Mitochondrial biology
How muscle cells build and maintain mitochondria, and what happens to energy metabolism when this system changes.
Studying how skeletal muscle cells manage mitochondria and calcium, and using multi-omics and AI to make sense of the data.
About
I am a graduate student at Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine, working in the laboratory of Prof. Jin-Ho Koh. I combine wet-lab work on muscle cells with bioinformatics, and I like building tools that make analysis faster, clearer and reproducible.
Research
Four connected themes, from the organelle to the dataset.
How muscle cells build and maintain mitochondria, and what happens to energy metabolism when this system changes.
Live calcium imaging in muscle cells to follow signals between organelles and to link them to function.
Comparing conditions such as exercise and aging with careful statistics and clear, honest visualization.
Using language models and AI agents to speed up analysis, while checking every output against the data.
Toolbox
The bench and the keyboard, side by side.
From the lab
A few recent publications that show the kind of questions our lab asks about muscle metabolism.
